The Seraphim, better known as the Archangels, are the second highest rank of Celestial Entity behind Yahweh himself. They were created before the Big Bang in the Void as beings of pure light and energy. They are the most powerful race in the Multiverse.
Archangels are based on the creature of the same name and the Seraphim from many Abrahamic Religions.
History
Born in the Void
Cosmic Singularities
As the Void expanded, absorbing copious amounts of Antimatter from Nowhere, Khaos' body began forming large, uncomfortable masses of Dark Matter called Cosmic Singularities. Yahweh, whom the Archangels call God, found these singularities and with his magic transformed them into the Seraphim, powerful Celestial Entities with fire at their finger tips. Azrael, the angel of death was formed first, followed by the twins Michael the Taxiarch and Samael the light bringer, then Raphael the healer, Gabriel the protector, and Uriel the host.
Forming the Multiverse
The Archangels, after seeing their father create the first Universe and the chain reaction it caused, continued Yahweh's work by activating dud Cosmic Singularities into new Universes.
Abandoning the Abyss
The countless Big Bangs goin off inside of Khaos' body pained her to no end, causing her body, the Void, to become inhospitable. An Archangel, Uriel, found the collapsed Nexus Universe and alerting it to Yahweh who saw the potential in the artificial cosmic egg. Yahweh reignited the Nexus Universe into the Prime Universe where he and the Archangels decided to live, escaping Khaos' deadly wrath.
Heavenly Host
Building the Universal Shell
Inside the Prime Universe, the Archangels helped Yahweh construct what would become the Universal Shell, the bright Ether, and the dark Nether dimensions. They made their homes in the Ether where they made the city of Heaven.
Saints of the Heavenly Host
Yahweh created countless other lesser Celestial Entities, such as the Angels, Cherubim, and Ophanim, and allowed the Archangels to be their superiors. The Celestials, lead by Yahweh and the Archangels formed the Heavenly Host.
Purification of the Cosmos
Samael, who nicknamed himself Lucifer, God's favorite son, took it upon himself to cleanse the universe of excess Dark Energy and Magic using the Lucifractor, named after himself. The rest of the host worked to funnel it all to Lucifer. Their actions force the Universe to form habitable dimension and Yahweh made sure the same thing happened to all other Universes.
War in Heaven
Corruption of the Heavenly Host
With a gentle coaxing by the Collector, Lucifer gave in to his pride and envy of Michael and unleashed the power stored in the Lucifractor into himself in the hopes of becoming more powerful. Lucifer, now a corrupted Fallen Archangel, hides in the shadows of the Ether, turning roughly a third of the Heavenly Host population into more Fallen Angels, including Archangel Azrael.
The remaining Archangels were in attendance for a meeting with Yahweh. Michael made it known of Lucifer's fall as well as Azrael. Yahweh attempted to talk Lucifer down but quickly realized that it was too late for him. When God returned to the Archangels he explained, with a broken heart, that a war was coming and they need to prepare.
First Battle of Good and Evil
Lucifer and his army of Fallen Angels, formerly comprising roughly a third of the Heavenly Host rose up an attacked the remaining Host. The battle was so explosive that it shook the entire Ether, shattering it to pieces. During the climax of the battle, Azrael was killed and the rest of the Fallen were cast out of Heaven and down to the Underworld. Lucifer specifically was inflicted with the Chthonic Curse by Michael, so he can never set foot in his former home again.
Characteristics
Unlike their younger Angelic siblings, the Archangels are more humanoid in appearance. Like all Celestial Entities, the Archangels are without sex and gender. But they all recognize and present themselves as male. They often disguise themselves as male Humans with feathered wings on their backs, but those wings are usually hidden from view. In this form, Archangels are very powerful and strong.
The true form of the Archangels are incorporeal beings of pure light and energy. Radiant, beings with a variety of animal heads and six burning wings on their backs. The middle pair of wings are used for moving, while highest pair stretch above their heads and the lowest pair cover their nonexistent legs. Covering various parts of their bodies are extra eyes letting them see in all directions including their main central eye in the middle of their chest. Archangels, like most angels are accompanied by an Ophanim, which doubles as their halos in their cloaked form, who circles and revolves around them to protect them in their true forms. The Archangels are massive entities being 216 feet (~66 meters) in height and their wingspan doubling that in their true forms.
The name Seraphim, means "the burning ones" coming from the Arachangel's large burning wings in their true and cloaked forms. They can be described as the embodiments of the holy celestial fires.
Powers
- Celestial Entity Physiology: The Archangels the eldest and strongest form of Celestial Entity. While in the minority of the Heavenly Host, Archangels, sometimes called Seraphim, are the most powerful and magically skilled of their kind.
- Immortality: While it is possible for Archangels to die, under normal circumstances, it is nearly impossible for that to happen. The Seraphim are the eldest of the Celestial Entities, the oldest of them being over 26 billion years old. Due to their inorganic forms, Archangels cannot age or evolve, trapping them in a forever young and healthy body unable to die of natural causes.
- Invulnerability: Celestial Entities, especially the Archangels, are entirely impervious to physical attacks. Only the Grim Reaper's Scythe, and the Burning Celestial Blades can harm or kill them. Projectiles, such as bullets and arrows, bounce off of their skin and often breaks into pieces. Mele weapons, such as swords, can penetrate their bodies but do no lasting harm, instantly regenerating any damaged tissue.
- Enhanced Strength:
- Nigh-Omniscience:
- Reality Warping:
can bend reality and change reality according to their will - Telepathy:
- Teleportation: [To Be Expanded]
- Portal Creation: [To Be Expanded]
- Dimension Travel:
can travels through all the dimensions
- Seraphim/Archangel Physiology: In the grand calculous of the Multiverse, the Archangels are the most powerful beings to exist, second only to the three Cosmic Entities. The shear amount of raw power the Archangels posses is enough to cripple most other magic wielders in their presence, forcing them to fall before them.
- Flight: Archangels have no feet in their natural forms and are constantly levitating. When in human form, they can use their burning feathered wings to fly.
- Shapeshifting: The Seraph can morph their metaphysical selves into whatever or whoever they choose. When changing from their true form to their humanoid form, the Ophanim around them obscures their transformation before shrinking into the Halo above their heads.
- Holy Fire Manipulation: As it is a part of their bodies, Archangels can control Holy Fire, including stars, and the energy from other Angels. They can also control other types of fire and re completely immune to burning.
- Angelic Manipulation:
Create, manipulate, and destroy angels. They can use angels to perform all kinds of tasks.
Weaknesses
- Celestial Blades: The Burning Celestial Blades are silver daggers with the power to kill nearly everything in the entire Multiverse, including the Archangels
- Grim Reaper's Scythe: A trait only present in the Grim Reaper's Scythe, not other Reaper scythes, it can kill nearly everything then the entire Multiverse, including Archangels
- Fallen Angels: Despite their immense power, the Archangels can be corrupted by Fallen Angels and fall themselves, however, it can be reversed
