Quantum Realm | Astral Plane | Spatial Plane | Temporal Plane |
The Astral Plane is one of the four planes of reality and is the second plane, representing width. It is a plane where the metaphysical exist separately from the physical not bound my the laws of physics or gravity. The Astral Plane is home to many spectral creatures such as Ghosts and Angels where they remain hidden from Spatial Plane creatures.
The Astral Plane is based on the Second Dimension in geometrical planes, the Astral Plane from Pendleton Ward's "Adventure Time", and on the Astral Dimension from the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Description
The Astral Plane is a realm parallel to the Spatial Plane but remains hidden to the higher beings. It is a realm where spirits exist separately from the Physical world. It is hazy and orange in color. While it was created with the Prime Universe, the Astral Plane stretches across the whole Multiverse, acting as a mirror to all physical realms and beings.
History
Early Days
Actualization
Upon the Birth of the Universe, the four plans of reality were created with it. At the moment of the Big Bang, the Quantum Realm, Spatial Plane, Temporal Plane and Astral Planes were all forged in order of their energy.
Being Populated
Many entities from the Void chose to inhabit the Astral Plane once they moved into the Universe. Others had no choice to reside in the Astral Plane as their physical forms were not strong enough to exist in the Spatial Plane fully. Most of the Primordial Deities, the Protogenoi and the Ogdoad, and Celestial Entities, the Archangels and Yahweh, chose to live in the Astral Plane within the physical Universe hidden from the third dimension.
Tethered to the Spatial Plane
Creation of Astral Forms
With the emergence of corporeal life in the physical world, eventually came the emergence of a spiritual tether called an Astral or Spirit. These Spirits link the physical to the metaphysical and acts as a second, immortal body within the Astral Plane that would persist after death. However, like the primordials, these Astral forms were rendered invisible to normal individuals.
Empowering Magic Users
Over time, the Astral Plane began to bleed into the Spatial Plane and granting special powers to strong or intelligent magic users. Some beings were now able to see into and manipulate the Astral Plane and its unseen inhabitance.
The First Dead World
Lost Souls
As corporeal beings would die, their corporeal forms would lose its integrity and slowly return to the elements, while Astral Forms would untether from the physical in release into the Astral Plane. Before other Dead Worlds and the Grim Reapers were established, nearly all souls would be released into the Astral Plane as Lost Souls, more commonly known as Ghosts.
